Space Video of the Day - 080318

A few hours ago, Sir Arthur C. Clarke died in Columbo, Sri Lanka. He was one of the "big three" science fiction authors, along with Isaac Asimov and Robert Heinlein. One of his most famous works was adapted for the silver screen along with Stanley Kubrick in 1968; 2001: A Space Odyssey changed the way that people thought about fiction set in space, due to the meticulous attention to realism. Today's space video of the day, assuming it isn't yanked by YouTube too soon, is the full movie 2001: a Space Odyssey. Turn off the lights, turn up the sound, and enjoy.
